Fantasy Premier League: Let the games begin
The Premier League returns with an exciting season and a lot of uncertain possibilities that might just come true this time around.
The much awaited 2018/19 Premier League season is about to begin, and the stakes cannot be higher. With teams arming themselves by signing new players and revamping their squad, we will surely be in for high octane encounters every gameweek. The fans will also keep an eye out for noteworthy performances from unorthodox players to enhance their Fantasy Premier League (FPL) squad.
Apart from the favourites, there are a few who could gain maximum points for the FPL players and give them a good start to their FPL campaign.
Here, we look at our top picks for Gameweek 1.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.0 M)
After a successful last season that saw the Arsenal superstar net 22 goals and provide five assists in the league, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has continued his sublime form in the pre-season encounters. The 30-year-old scored against Lyon and Barcelona in the pre-season matches displaying despite age catching up on him, he is fitter than ever to lead the Gunners’ attack.

His partnership with Alexandre Lacazette has been instrumental in making Arsenal a striking force up front. This week’s encounter against Newcastle United away from home will be a good chance to keep his engines fired up and running as his form surely permits such a scenario to come to life.
Mohamed Salah (£12.5M)
The Egyptian wonder, Mohamed Salah has been the top FPL points scorer, with more than 500 FPL points in total, in each of his two seasons at Anfield. As Liverpool hosts Norwich City at home, you can surely expect a galore of goals with Salah leading the charge in the attack. The newly promoted Norwich will be experiencing trouble they are not accustomed to.

He is surely expected to be the captain in the FPL squad of many people and if they miss out on captaining him, they’ll lose valuable points. Salah is one indispensable player you need in your fantasy team, regardless of the situation.
Youri Tielemans (£6.5 M)
Youri Tielemans is considered as one of the most promising talents in this year’s FPL. The £40 million man has permanently signed for Leicester City, who are on the up going into the 2019/20 season. The 22-year-old Belgian has managed to rack up three goals and five assists in just a third of the season last time out for AS Monaco.
His price tag is also moderate, and he could turn out to be one of those rare gems of the season. The FPL managers can prefer him to James Maddison (£7.0m) and Ayoze Perez (£6.5m) who are also strong options.
Lucas Digne (£6.0M)
The Everton left back has been the most lethal attacking defenders in FPL. Digne produced four goals and five assists in his debut campaign for the Toffees. The Frenchman’s influence has been beyond measure as he created 71 chances last season, at least 20 more than any other defender.
8 reasons why Lucas Digne is in my #FPL team
🔵 Top for chances created last seasons for defs (71)
🔵 6th for shots on target for defs
🔵Nailed on full back, Baines has had an extension and will happily deputise

The key for any FPL manager to gain points through a defensive option is Digne. He is an attacking player who makes the run on the flanks and can steer back to save his team from conceding a goal. This one should be in most of the FPL squads for the first half of the season.
Andrew Robertson (£7.0M)
Trent Alexander Arnold and Andrew Robertson were the only two defenders to be handed a £7.0m price tag in FPL this season. With the price that high, you can expect a performance of high caliber from Robertson and given that they are playing at home, and against a recently promoted team Norwich, the 25-year old left back will be a safe bet for the FPL managers.

Robertson is quick on the flanks and his assists have proven invaluable in the past season.
