Fantasy Premier League: The troupe of extraordinary forwards
From hat-tricks to nail biting finishes, Gameweek two didn’t fail to live up to the insurmountable expectations of the Fantasy Premier League managers.
Norwich City stormed back with a victory and secured three points at home courtesy of a sublime hat-trick from their forward Teemu Pukki. Some of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers were hesitant to keep him in their squad but those who did, came out victorious in this Gameweek. Tottenham Hotspur held Manchester City to a draw while a majestic performance by Sadio Mane against Southampton ensured that Liverpool stayed top of the table.
Here are the players who gained maximum points in Gameweek two.
Teemu Pukki (17 points)
Norwich City’s Pukki ran riot at Carrow Road against Newcastle United. The 29-year-old forward is now the leading scorer in the league after a phenomenal hat-trick saw Norwich clinch their first win of the season.
Checked some stats.
Most penalty area touches – 15
Most goal attempts – 10
Most shots in the box – 10
Most shots on target – 7

His selection rate is now tipped to go up as the FPL managers would run to cash on in his striking hot form, given his moderate price of £6.7 million.
John Lundstram (14 points)
The 25-year-old striker was instrumental in paving the way for Sheffield United’s first win of the season after his goal made the difference on Sunday against a charged-up Crystal Palace. Although he wasn’t the first choice of many FPL managers as he was benched by 69.6% of his FPL owners.

The strike against Newcastle comes a sign of promising times for Lundstram and the FPL managers to keep a keen eye on the upcoming subliminal forward who can snatch maximum points at a low price.
Sadio Mane (13 points)
Liverpool have been riding high on Sadio Mane’s hot form. The Senegalese striker has been delivering time and again for the Reds and with a goal and an assist to his name, he sealed the deal for Jurgen Klopp against Southampton over the weekend.

Although it was a closely contested encounter, Mane was clinical throughout. Despite his costly price tag, he will be a key player in every player squad and shouldn’t be let go at any given time.
Erik Lamela (12 points)
After a scorching equalizer in the 23rd minute against Manchester City on Saturday, Erik Lamela returned with an assist to save his team from a loss, allowing them to take away a point. In a game of high intensity, Lamela displayed moments of brilliance and was instrumental in dictating the play for the Spurs.
No wonder he has been a favourite for many FPL managers who always find a way to squeeze him in their squads.
Dani Ceballos (11 points)
Moving to Arsenal from Real Madrid has done wonders for Dani Ceballos as within a short span of two Gameweeks, he has been a thriving force in the Gunners’ midfield. He assisted both Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang paving the way for a second consecutive victory on the trot for Unai Emery’s men.
Dani Ceballos – #FPL Thread.
My thoughts following yesterday’s game:
✅ Cheap: £5.5m
✅ Yesterday’s stats: 2 assists, 3 shots, 4 key passes, 5 crosses & 4 dribbles
✅ On set pieces
✅ Attacking threat: Emery said he’ll play as a No.10 or No.8 (box to box)

Ceballos will be an asset as the season progresses for all the FPL managers.
